Inside SAP Business One when you’re in the Inventory Master Data window or the Business Partner Master Data window, the window opens by default in Find Mode which means you can use the fields displayed to search for an existing item or business parter. For example if you’re in the Item Master Data window you may type the Item Number of an existing item into the Item No. field and the click find.
In the case that you want to ADD a NEW business partner or inventory item you’ll want to switch to Add Mode. To do that, click the Add Icon in the main toolbar of SAP’s interface. The Add Icon resembles a lined piece of paper with a red corner. See below:
Once you click this button you’ll notice that the screen has changed slightly to accommodate a new entry. In particular, the bottom buttons now say “Add” instead of “Find”.
